George's Trust

21st Dec 2011

Michael Rhodes chosen charity George's Trust held its Christmas concert on Monday 12th December where nearly 400 people filled Romsey Abbey to listen to a number of Romsey's musicians and singers. The evening raised over £1500 towards the local charity which primarily raises money for a new Teenage Cancer ward at Southampton General Hospital. George's Trust was launched in June 2009 in memory of 17 year old George O'Brien. George was a fit and healthy young lad who tragically died in October 2008 as an acute lymphoblastic lymphoma. George was very keen member of RASO, RAJO and Romsey Abbey Choir all of which performed on the night. The Trust has been very successful in fund raising and is well on target for the £100,000 that it has pledged for the new Teenage Cancer ward at Southampton General Hospital.
